The Black Keys concert special to air this Friday

THE BLACK KEYS’ CONCERT TO AIR ON THE HOWARD STERN SHOW DECEMBER 19

BAND NOMINATED FOR BEST ROCK ALBUM, BEST ROCK SONG AND BEST ROCK PERFORMANCE AT THE 2015 GRAMMY AWARDS

TURN BLUE DEBUTS AT #1 ON BILLBOARD 200

“The best, most consistently gripping album the Keys have ever made…Turn Blue is as apocalyptic, in its way, as that Clash epic [London Calling]: loaded with risk, distress and payoff.”—Rolling Stone

“Among the most prominent American rockers in the world, able to craft nuanced rock ‘n’ soul one minute and hard-sweating guitar funk the next.” –Los Angeles Times

“The Black Keys are that rare 21st century rock band that just keeps ascending.” –Chicago Tribune

The Howard Stern Show will broadcast a special live concert by The Black Keys Friday, December 19on SiriusXM Radio. The concert, taped earlier this year in Houston, TX will air on SiriusXM Howard 100 or 101 at 11:15 PM EST/8:15 PM PST. The two hour concert is running directly after the “The Howard Stern Birthday Bash: Director’s Cut” special.

In addition, raffle tickets are now available for Dan Auerbach’s childhood guitar, signed by both Patrick Carneyand Auerbach. All proceeds benefit the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

The band has been nominated at the 2015 Grammy Awards in three categories—Best Rock Album for Turn Blue, Best Rock Song for “Fever” and Best Rock Performance for “Fever.” The band has won 6 total Grammy Awards and now has 15 total nominations. This year’s nominations follow a very successful year for the duo, whose new album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and continues to receive widespread acclaim. Most recently, Turn Blue was named #3 Best Album of 2014 by Rolling Stone, which called it “the sound of America’s most innovative arena rockers in full command.”

In celebration of the release, the duo is currently in the midst of a North American tour including upcoming shows at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and Atlanta’s Philips Arena. See below for complete tour details and watch the recently released “The Black Keys On Touring” video here. Promoted exclusively by Live Nation, the tour features special guest St. Vincent. Additionally, the band recently taped an episode of “Austin City Limits” to celebrate the program’s 40th anniversary season—airing January 31. Moreover, on February 6 the band will help honor Bob Dylan as the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year. Other artists confirmed to perform at the 25th annual benefit gala dinner and concert include Beck, Willie Nelson and Neil Young, among many others.
Turn Blue is the highest chart debut yet for the band whose previous album, El Camino, debuted at #2 in 2011. Furthermore, it is the first #1 album for Nonesuch and the band’s highest charting album to date internationally, debuting at #1 in Canada and Australia, #2 in the U.K., New Zealand and Croatia, #3 in Ireland and Hungary, #4 in France and Switzerland and #5 in Austria, Denmark and Holland. Additionally, the album charted in the top ten in Germany, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece. Turn Blue is certified Gold in the U.K. and Canada.

Produced by Danger MouseDan Auerbach and Patrick CarneyTurn Blue comprises 11 new tracks including the first single, “Fever,” which is the longest running #1 song this year at both Alternative radio and AAA radio. Additionally, the album has received critical praise, with NPR Music calling it “…expansive and irresistibly catchy,” and USA Today saying it is “…an engrossing collection that takes daring leaps while embracing the primal energy and minimalism of the duo’s early records.”
Earlier this year, the duo returned to “Saturday Night Live” for their third musical guest appearance, performing “Fever” and “Bullet in the Brain.” The band also performed  “Fever” and “It’s Up to You Now” on “Late Show with David Letterman” in addition to performing a longer set from a stage on a closed West 53rd Street, for the “Live on Letterman” online series. The duo concluded their whirlwind release-week schedule with an interview and performance at “The Colbert Report.” Most recently, the duo performed their new single “Gotta Get Away” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” as well as a cover of Edwyn Collins’ “A Girl Like You” as a web exclusive.

Turn Blue was recorded at Sunset Sound in L.A. during the summer of 2013 with additional recording at the Key Club in Benton Harbor, MI and Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound in Nashville in early 2014. Of the new album, the band says Turn Blue could refer to:
A: Suffocation
B: Sadness
C: Numbness from extreme cold
D: A Cleveland late night TV host from the 1960s named Ghoulardi
E: All of the above

Carney adds, “We are always trying to push ourselves when we make a record—not repeat our previous work but not abandon it either. On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds. We’re excited for the world to hear Turn Blue.”

This is the eighth full-length album from the duo and the fifth on Nonesuch, in collaboration with its parent company Warner Bros. Records. Turn Blue follows 2011’s critically and commercially acclaimed El Camino, which is now certified RIAA Platinum. Internationally, El Camino is Gold in Belgium, Spain, Italy and Holland; Platinum in Ireland, France and the U.K.; double Platinum in Australia and New Zealand; and triple Platinum in Canada. The record also resulted in three awards at the 55th annual Grammy Awards—Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album. The band now has a total of six Grammy Awards including three in 2010 for their breakout, RIAA Platinum album, Brothers.

Jessica Pratt Announces 2015 Tour Dates

JESSICA PRATT IS ON TOUR AND ON HER OWN LOVE AGAIN
Album Release Date: January 27th, 2015
"Inside the sparse 'Back, Baby; is the breezy pop song she plays when the skies are clear, blue, and unconditional. . . There's practically a beach and a palm tree in the background. She shines a light on that first hint of confidence that comes when you're just a little bit removed from love, which is why the song flows along such a straight line. Her steady hand makes it a perfectly geometric. . . " -Pitchfork ["The 100 Best Tracks of 2014/Best New Track"]

"Pratt's stream-of-consciousness feels otherworldly, transposed from space and time, where slowly strumming on your guitar while sitting on your bedroom floor is the same as taking the first step on a moon in a galaxy far away." - Stereogum ["The 5 Best Songs Of The Week"]

"Pratt writes songs that sound like they're 50 years old, and she sings them like they're 100 years old. I'm not sure if she's real or a ghost that's been haunting me for the past few weeks. Can you guys hear how pretty this is, too?" -Grantland ["Songs of the Week"]

"Jessica Pratt has a lot going for her: her guitar, her lyrics, her melodies. But, man, that voice. It's a conundrum, a honeypot mix of sweet and sour, the lightness of her highs given weight by the counterpoints of her lows. . . " - Flavorwire ["The 6 Best New Songs We Heard This Week"]
The New Year is right around the corner and with a new year comes new beginnings! Since the announcement of Jessica Pratt's dazzling Drag City debut,
On Your Own Love Again, the world has collectively held their breath, awaiting the moment when Jessica arrives on their doorstep! Thankfully, Jessica has provided us with a sigh of relief, in the form of the salient "Back, Baby". With "Back, Baby", she sends her voice traveling into strange places, providing subtle hallucinatory moments of refinement. The timeless nature of her guitar and voice is both compelling and hypnotizing and it's impossible not to respond to the sound of her music, not to want more right away!

Jessica has heard the rallied cries of eager fans everywhere and, boy, does she deliver! Beginning in February, Jessica sets sail on a string of dates with Kevin Morby, hitting spots up and down the West Coast. This tour will mark a momentous occasion, her first steps on North American soil in support of On Your Own Love Again! So mark your calendars, cross off your New Year's resolutions and join Jessica Pratt on her celestial journey to serenade the streets of L.A., from the Bay Area and back again, baby!

FAT WHITE FAMILY NEW VIDEO FOR "I AM MARK E SMITH" SINGLE
PREMIERES ON NME

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

SINGLE OUT NOW B/W "I AM JOSEPH STALIN"

PLAYING FINAL SHOW OF 2015 AT BABY'S ALL RIGHT THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20TH

UK & EUROPEAN TOURS FEBRUARY/MARCH

Photo courtesy of Gretchen Robinette/Brooklyn Vegan

Fat White Family are the greatest young rock band in the UK and this probably extends to the rest of the world as well. For a band that only really coalesced as the Fat White Family in 2011, the six piece have already got several once-in-a-lifetime/ ‘OMG – were you there?’ gigs under their belt. One such show, in December of last year, the band rattled the walls of the legendary 100 Club in London, thus aligning themselves with the numerous legends who have trod the very same stage. The band summoned up the feral electric skronk blues of The Magic Band and The Birthday Party, the proto-punk pummelling of The Monks and The Modern Lovers and the twisted folk of Charles Manson and The Country Teasers. And as singer Lias Saoudi, clad in nothing but a pair of back to front, skin tight rubber trousers, was carried at head height off stage by a crowd of howling devotees, it was clear that something special had just happened...

This past year, Fat White Family were critically acclaimed in the press, as well as conquering SXSW, CMJ, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and embarked on a hugely successful US tour. One of the best live acts out there right now. Do not miss.

Their debut album, 'Champagne Holocaust' is out now through Fat Possum Records.
The band also started their own label, Without Consent.

December 20th - Baby's All Right - Brooklyn, NY

"....the most exciting young band in Britain..." Q Magazine

"Fat White Family have a knack for turning questionable taste into excellent punk rock." Rolling Stone/Hot List

The only band on this list I saw twice at CMJ this year -- and they killed it both times.....excellent, wild performers... great stuff."
Brooklyn Vegan/CMJ Highlights

"...refreshingly unique..." Bust

"...reminds me of long-lost groups like the Cravats and Marc Riley and the Creepers, as well as perennially loved cult artists like the Gun Club and the Fall....Don’t ever lose your ramshackleness and devil-may-care attitude, Fat White Family." The Stranger

"Fat White Family have this dirty energy to them that just takes over a room...f you cut loose and let them work their magic on you, it’s a grand old time. They put on my favorite show of the entire week." WeAllWantSomeone/CMJ review

DEVO "Hardcore Live!" coming 2/20 - LA screening event 1/17

DEVO "Hardcore Live!" on DVD, Blu-ray, CD, and Vinyl
coming February 10th

"The Hardcore show for DEVO was like relocating a tail you misplaced a lifetime ago."
Mark Mothersbaugh

LA screening event with Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald V. Casale & Bob Mothersbaugh, Director Keirda Bahruth and Producer Rick Ballard
Saturday, January 17 - 7:30 PM
6712 Hollywood Boulevard
Hollywood, CA 90028 Map
Watch ROLLING STONE premiere "Uncontrollable Urge" HERE

DEVO was among the most thought-provoking bands to emerge in the aftermath of punk, but before hits like "Whip It," they worked in the basements and garages of Akron, Ohio to make raw, unfiltered music that the group called "Hardcore DEVO."
In the summer of 2014, DEVO did ten shows performing these seminal pre-fame songs, created between 1974 and 1977 and rarely played since then. Shot at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California, this exciting concert film captures these groundbreaking artists performing the songs that started it all, interwoven with interviews revealing the history of the band. In total, these 21 oddities serve as a tribute to departed, original DEVO bandmate, Robert "Bob 2" Casale.
A special screening event will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 7:30 PM at the Egyptian Theatre (6712 Hollywood Boulevard - Hollywood, CA 90028). A discussion with directorKeirda Bahruth, coproducer Rick Ballard, and DEVO members Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald V. Casale, and Bob Mothersbaugh will follow.
